Recently added a pair of WS-15 speakers as rear channels to upgrade the original speakers of an HTIB system. Compared to the "brittle" highs of those speakers, the response of the Teteron tweeter is open and spacious. Good examples are the applause in the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA DVD, and the rain and submarine battle effects in CRIMSON TIDE. What surprised me most was the bass response from THE HAUNTING DVD. Will be adding another set of WS15's as back channels in the near future!

I just purchased my 2nd pair of WS-100's for the living room. The room has both a wood floor and a wood ceiling. They sound spectacular!!!! especially for concerts. With these 2 speakers, you hear then entire range of the sound spectrum. You hear instruments and sounds that you never heard. Last night, we listened to the Dolly Parton/Melissa Etheridge concert- my friend's response-"I am getting goose bumps," especially when listening to their rendition of "I Will Always Love You." Athena Technologies-Keep implementing your mission-Creating speakers that give you goose bumps that are smartly priced.

I just purchased a pair of WS-100's to upgrade a system and they are so awesome that I will purchase a 2nd pair to upgrade another system. Last night we listened to Dolly P. & Melissa E., Martina M. & Pat B., Fleetwood Mac and Simon & Garfunkel. I woke up this morning and asked myself , "Did I attend all these concerts last night????" Pour yourself a nice glass of wine and get comfortable in some nice club chairs and enjoy your favorite concert. Thanks Athena T. for not only until smart design but spectacular performance. mark in san antonio, tx

I have the Athena WS100 front and the WS60 center speakers, my sub is the Athena P6000. This thing ROCKS!!. My old system was a Bose lifestyle system, and the Athena WS sounds so much better and at half the cost of a new Bose. What more could you ask for.

The AS-F1's have sparkling highs and deep, solid bass with exciting dynamics that are very well suited for Rock and Pop music and at a low price normally associated with bookshelf speakers. Cabinet construction and finish are excellent.

I heartily agree with your statement "The AS-P4000 and AS-P6000 usher in a new era of performance and value to the home subwoofer market." Ive heard that line before but rarely has it ever been true. Ive had some impressive subwoofers in my time from Paradigm, Velodyne and others and ive never heard anything @ the $299 price point of the P4000 sound this good. Good job!

Upgrading from a budget htib jvc hybrid I am putting together a seperate component home theatre system now that I have the means. My old system had decent front speakers with 6.5 inch woofers- I thought. My first purchase was the asb2's. That frequency response in the specs area really means a lot when you are looking at buying speakers. I did my research and consistently saw the raves for athena everywhere I looked. Hooked 'em up and all I can say is un-freakin-believable. Just watching tv through these bad boys regular broadcasts (not DD) in pro-logic2 these beauties deliver that freq response- down to 50hz and more. Crystal clear-highs to lows and everything in between. For movies in DD,forget about it, the frequency range and clarity is sick (as the kids say) I've had big floor speakers in the past yrs ago with 8 inch woofers and I dont remember this kind of bass. My old 6.5 bookshelfs I thought had some bass as well, but this is the kind below 80hz- when they say non-directional-you'll know it when you hear it. I know a sub would take it further, but apartment living in Toronto I cannot even come close to unleashing these monsters.Next I'm getting the athena center and would like to hear anyones comments on how they've added to their systems-especially when listening to music in prologicII music. And to finish, the asb1's in the back- can't wait to hear how that will sound when completed. thanks athena- the reviews are true. any "audiophiles" who say these b2's don't put out bass, we would all like to live in your world where budget or neighbours are not in the picture. So go ahead and spend 6-$700 on your Mission's,Polk's,B&W's, whatever, I don't see how a bookshelf can get any better than this.- (I was able to get them for $199, but would easily pay the regular $299 here in Canada- you could sell them for 499 or $599-they are,in my opinion,as good or better than any bookshelf in that range)

I was looking for a replacement to an older sub and was seriously looking at the Velodyne DSP 12. Then, while looking through the Future Shop website, I saw the AS-P6000 for sale at $399, regular $549. I remember hearing about it when it first came out, but forgot about it. The fact that it had an 800 watt (200 rms)BASH amp hooked me. I was a little concerned about the light weight and the fact that the driver only has a 28 oz magnet, compared to the 50oz magnet weight on the velo. However, I figured I would buy the athena and if I didn't like it, take it back. Well I can officially state that it won't be going back. I watched the LOTR trilogy and the battle scenes were astounding. Absolutely no distortion and the athena played all happily. I tried several other DVDs with heavy bass tracks and it played them all with flying colors. BTW, I have bass capable front towers (down to 40hz), but I have them set at "small" and set the frequency control on the AS-P6000 to full. It now looks after all the bass below 100 hz (my receiver only has a 100, 150, or 200 hz setting).

I dont consider myself an audiophile, but I would recommend the F2.2, C1, AS-P400 and F1.2 speaker setup to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Thanks Athena for making my home theater experience more enjoyable than the movie theater itself.

I have had my AS-F1s and P400 for 8 months and am still blown away by the sound. Reviewers often describe these as "great budget speakers" so I decided to see what much more expensive speakers sounded like. After listening to models costing 3 to 5 times the price of my Athenas, I decided that none were better, and some not as good! What this shows me is that exotic materials and proprietary designs, which increase cost, are less important than great implementation. How many companies have such faith in their implementation that they put the engineer and acoustician's names on every speaker? In conclusion, these are not just "great budget speakers", but just plain great speakers! Thank you Gord and Carmine.

I have an entire Athena home theatre speaker system. I have Audition series speakers. F 2.2 fronts, C 1.2 center, R 1.2 rears, B2.2 rear effects, B1.2 Presense, and two P-400 10 inch subs. I have never went to a theatre again. Music is crisp and full. Nothing compares to these speakers for the price. NOTHING !!

I had a JVC home theatre system worth $300 (cdn) when I had the idea to upgrade. I bought the point5 mk11 speakers and they are fantastic. What a difference! Even the wife admits the difference is night and day, and she is stubborn! I listened to the athena speakers along with other brand name speakers worth more money and it was a toss up between the Athena point 5 mk11 and the asb1's. Both sounded great, but the point5's were on sale with the asb300 sub for $460 at 2001 Audio Video. I then upgraded my receiver to an entry level Onkyo and I now enjoy listening to music more thsn ever before. I even had a couplle of questions about the speakers so I emailed the customer service people at Athena, and much to my surprise, they responded to both emails and answered my questions. On top of that, they're a Canadian company! Thanks Athena!

I've been using your f2 speakers as side speakers in a 7.1 system with Snell CV main speakers ADS L400 rear speakers and a Onkyo THX select receiver.I prefer the surround sound to 2 channel sound now. I was so impressed with your f2 speakers that I bought your center speaker and two as-r1 back surround speakers. This is the best sound I have heard in my house in thirty years. Your speakers sound great and are allot easier to move than the 114 pound Snell CV's.

My wife and I have been enjoying our Athena home theatre setup for almost two years now. Our setup consists of a pair of ASF2's for the front channels, an ASC1 center channel, and and two pairs of ASB1's for the surround channels. Recently we replaced a rather wimpy powered subwoofer we'd been using with Athena's AS6000 subwoofer. Quite unexpectedly an A/V receiver we had been using for several years gave up the ghost and we temporarily had to fall back to, gulp, TV speakers. How absolutely awful! We had become so accustomed to the excellent reproduction of the Athena system we were totally unprepared for the absolutely terrible sound eminating from our top of the line Toshiba CRT. After some considerable research we relaced the dead receiver with a new Pioneer VSX-1015TX 7.1 A/V unit. One of the neat features of this receiver is an audio setup process that, in conjunction with a supplied microphone, automatically adjusts channel level, speaker distance, and equalization parameters. After running the process with the new Athena subwoofer inserted the system we're most pleased to report that not only are we once again enjoying superb reproduction but with the assist from Pioneer the system sounds better than ever. Thank you Athena!

I have had my F2-1's for over six months now and like them better everyday!

23 Sep 2005
I received the AS-F1.2's and AS-P4000 and integrated it into my existing sound system. After listening to the new setup for a week now it is like the movies which I had previously watched in 5.1 on my old surround system (sounded great too) have now came even more to life. The floors produce such a broad sound, very clear and crisp high's, great midrange, and very low frequency as well, almost do not even need a sub with them. However the 10" subwoofer just tops it off and figuratively and literally moves the room. Thank you Athena

Man you can not find a better value than the Athena's. My system consists of two AS-F2's two AS-F1's and the AS-C1. I have a mediocre Yamaha reciever and a 42" Panasonic Plasma. The only thing I replaced in the system was the AS-P400, although it was a very impactful sub, it just came a little shy a louder volumes. I replaced it with the JBL E250P, that was a very good addition to my system. After listening to the and others, I overlooked the price and found the absolute best value out there and thanks to Sound And Vision mag, they kind of swayed me that way as well.

I have been using asf2,c1,b1,sub 8 and hsu stf2 sub with panasonic sahe 100 reciever for over a year now. I have changed my reciever to denon 2805. Tried the yamaha 5760(very good and half the price of denon). Have my old TDL rtl speakers which I have tried in the system along with my marantz cd63se cd player and sony taf443 amplifier. After doing various checks and combinations, I realised that asf2 sound the best with my (stereo)sony amplifier(50 rms)and panasonic f55 dvd player. It is better than the expensive(to me)denon reciever(100RMS) for stereo without a sub. It feels as though the music is on adrenalin. denon comes second only even in whatever pure direct mode. Now I know what really sounds very good in my set up. If only I can get an amp that can reproduce my stereo sony amp's sound for all the channels in HT, I can rest for awhile!

The sound from the Athena Micras....kinda pisses me off. ;) Amazing speakers for their price and size. compre un subwoofer modelo asp400 y quede encantado con el sonido que produce, soy adicto a los sonidos bajos, cuando andaba en la tienda (donde lo compre) de repente escuche un sonido muy intenso de bajos y me regrese a ver que subwoofer era el que se estaba escuchando, me quede asombrado se escuchaba tan bien que me quede escuchandolo por un buen rato, dos semanas despues regrese por el a la tienda, por cierto era el ultimo y no me arrepiento de haberlo comprado, despues quisiera comprar el resto de la bocinas para formar lo que es el home teatre, espero poder comprarlo de esta misma marca

Well I must say thay after purchasing a lot of different speakers for my theater room, the last purchase was an Athena setup. I bought a set of AS-B1's and three AS-R1's for the surround. I am currently running a 6.2 system with a Sony 895 as my head unit. The sound is truly awesome, and must be listened to. Over the last month I have since upgraded my AS-B1's to the AS-F1's due to a deal I could not turn down and I am so glad that I did. The clarity is even better and they compliment the rest of the setup including the dual subs one on each side of the room hince.2. If you can get any of these speakers you will not be dissapointed at all. Good luck and happy listening.

I use to work for best buy and sold countless Athena systems. I finally had enough space to buy my full system: AS-F1 for the fronts AS-C1 for the center and then two athena bi-polar rear speakers. I matched them up with an Onkyo dvd player and a Yamaha reciever. The build quality of Athena and the different ranges of sound that can be heard is just too amazing. I've turned all my friends from Klipsch to athena within 5 minutes of listening to my system! I can't wait for the next generation of Athena speakers to hit the market! Im an Athena man for sure!

I've recently re-wired some of my Athena Audition Speakers with huge 12 gauge (294 copper strands per wire). Trust me, use excellent speaker wire, these speakers deserve it. I've notice a brighter and cleaner sound. I will soon replace all my low grade cables with high quality ones. I can't help myself - the speakers will keep sounding better and better!

I had been a believer for full size speakers especially the JBL's with over 10" bass module to produce the bass that I needed. Until I had recently took over one of my brother's old M225 Athena sub and used it in my bedroom. I have a large bedroom and was using a pair of floor standing JBL L80t in it. The M225 just threw me off the chair and I immediately retired the bulky JBL's into the garage. I tested the M225 against the JBL PSW 1200 sub in the family room. With a much larger space there, the 75W M225 still deserve at least a tie with the much larger and powerful JBL. The Athena M225 actually won if you also consider the small foot print, and the much much nice looking front vented cabinet. While you and your wife would always wanted to cover the JBL with a table cloth, the Athena wins hands down with its nice look. I will definitely buy Athena for my next set of speakers.

After constant nagging from my wife, I finally gave in and started looking for a replacement for my Audition series speakers. After having Athena speakers for over a year and enjoying it, I decided to purchase a pair of WS-100 at Bestbuy late last month without even auditioning. I want to prove to my wife that full tower speaker is the only way to get good sound on our HT and was hoping that I can keep my Audition series in our HT, which I love so much. I first hooked up the WS-100 in my living room where I have my dedicated 2Ch setup. The room was pretty big with sloping ceiling as high as 20'. I played some CDs and was surprised by the quality of sound coming out of these skinny towers. I then hooked it up to my HT and I was blown away by the sound. I have added WS-60 as center since then and hoping to get WS-15 surround real soon. It's funny that I don't even miss my Audition series which found a new place in our home. The Audition is now connected to my 2Ch setup.

I have been looking for a sub to replace my 10 yr old JBL PSW1000 sub but most of the ones that interested me cost more than what I was willing to pay until I found Athena. I recently purchased the redesigned AS-P400 which is now the AS-P4000 at Best Buy. They didn’t have one on display yet so I decided to take home the only one they have in their inventory to audition it in my entertainment room. I immediately hooked it up to my Denon AVR-3300 receiver, set the preliminary adjustments and popped in “The Abyss” in the DVD player. As soon as I fired it up, I knew then that there’s no turning back. I don’t know much about speaker specs but my ears told me that this is the sub I have been looking for. The bass it produces is awesome! It was more than plenty to fill my 350 sq. ft. room with tight and accurate bass. I felt the deep rumbles in “The Abyss” that my JBL PSW1000 failed to deliver. The AS-P4000 still has the 100-Watt 10” woofer, only this one has a down firing woofer rather than its predecessor’s front fire design. It is enclosed in a rather attractive and elegant two-toned housing with a silver air port, volume control and on/stand by LED indicator in front of the sub. The back control panel has all the functions and features of the AS-P400 minus the binding posts and the placement of the controls are very intuitive and user friendly. The AS-P4000 re-energized the excitement I seem to have lost in my home theater. It’s about time a company makes affordable high quality audio equipments! Thanks Athena!

I just purchased the AS-F2's. I cannot begin to express my joy with the sound from these puppies. They simply exceed all my expectations from every perspective. They sound awesome. I have a large room; almost 1200 sqft. I am only using a 100 W amp. I listen to music at moderate levels. The sound quality and volume is exceeds all expectations. I am a loyal Athena purchaser. I also have the Point 5 system, AS-P300 SUB, and now the AS-F2's. Keep it up; and please don't discontinue the AS-F2's. These speakers will be historical epics.

I've had a pair of the AS-F2s for a year (purchased May '04) and have them powered by a Nad C370 integrated amp @ 120WPC. I am constantly amazed at their detail and clarity, not to mention the authority at which they deliver the music. "Exciting!" is another word that comes to mind. These are an incredible value.

I love the AS-B1. What a sound! What a price! Seriously if anybody is here looking for reviews before they purchase speakers, buy these, buy them. I bought JBL E20s and compared to these, they are the biggest piece of crap. I use the B1s for front and they occasionally serve as my DJ monitors for cueing. They are great anyway you use them. You hear everything the songs have to offer. Perfectly crossed over, great mids and highs and a bass that's well bass and not knocking on wood like the JBL E20s. The sound travels everywhere in my big room. The JBL's had to be used are headphones to hear anything and they sound so bad. The AS-B1's sounded great out of the box but wait after a couple of weeks of use. They sound even greater. I'm so happy with them I needed to share my experience.

Well, well,.Most impressive! (as-f2's)Have only moderate volume "break in time"so far.But at 1/3 power the rock ROCKS!I will get in trouble with the neighbors soon.Good bass, clean hi's.And did I mention LOUD! Some things to know:They have "made in china" all over the place.I was led to believe it was Canada all the way.???? Also, they are truly huge.Yes I read the specs but seeing them in person, holy crap their big,and a little top heavy. The spikes didnt help much(carpet floor) Maybe on a flat wood/tile floor they would be more stable.Buts its not a real big deal. In closing, great speakers for the money. I paid $400 at Audio Advisor. (I think they are sold out by the way) Ill try them in a surround sound format some day but thats another story. Just make sure you have the space "you think you have" when you buy these. And they are PLENTY of speaker for any rec/ living room Ive ever been in.But I guess thats a good thing. Have fun! ps-music sampled so far was rock.(revenant, linkin park, crossfade) Would do well with any good recording however.

I recently purchased a pair of AS F1s, and they are outstanding. The sound is so clear, in fact, that I immediately started noticing the limitations of my reciever and CD player. I have since replaced these with new Onkyo units and am now in audio heaven. The F1s have the tangible bass and room-filling ambiance associated with fine large speakers, but they also have the razor-sharp detail associated with good headphones! At $280 these are a steal, though you will need to spend more than that on electronics capable of doing them justice.

My system consists of 2 AS-F2's for my fronts, 1 AS-C1 for my center, and 2 AS-B1's for my rears. I am running this home theater system set up off an entry level Pioneer VSX-510 Receiver, and an entry level Toshiba SD-3900 DVD player. “This system is highly recommended, cannot be beaten in this price range” I am home theater and home stereo enthusiast and have to say that the sound quality Athena is able to achieve at these extremely moderately low prices is absolutely outstanding! I have heard and tried out many different speakers in slightly higher and much higher price ranges, and this system can stand pretty much right beside anything priced as much as double the cost. This system runs phenomenal with the equipment I am running, but I have heard this system with a higher quality receiver and DVD player, and it is really even more impressive, wow, the possibilities are endless. If anyone is looking for an affordable way to have a home theater system as good, if not better than your local theater, do yourself a favor and pick this up, you will not be disappointed. Now all I need is to pick up an Athena sub, and that finalizes this great set up. “I give this Home Theater package 4 ½ stars out of 5” ***Probably would have given it a 5 out of 5 if I had a sub and the AS-B2 speakers as my rears.

Third generation API buyer. After years of contemplating what floor standing speakers to buy as a legitimate upgrade to my 'ex-love' Energy Take 5 speakers, I decided to give Athena a listen. As much as I kicked myself for departing with my Take 5, (I also went through the same distress with my Sound Dynamics RTS-2s, sigh...) I'm more than satisfied with my AF-1s, C-1, and SC-1s. These will remain a part of my family for years to come.

My setup consists of two AS-F2, an AS-C1, two AS-B1, and the AS-P400 subwoofer. These speakers are amazing. I bought them in October of 2003 and I have been very impressed ever since. I did a lot of research before buying them and I did not read really anything negative about them. I remember some people saying the F2s output sound quality comparable to speakers that cost well over $1000 a piece! A lot of people have never heard of Athena, but I recommend them to everyone that is looking for a nice set of speakers. I hope to continue enjoying these fantastic speakers for many years to come.

I bought the micra 6 system about a month ago. They replaced 3 full size diy floor standing speakers with a total of 4 8inch woofers and 2 book shelfs with 2 8inch woofers they were cramed into a small bedroom wich is why I had to go with sats. After much research I decided to go with Atena's Micra 6.After installing the easy to mount brackets and setting the reciever to acomadate the sats I fired up my favorite assortment of dvd-a sacd dvd-v and cds. I could not belive the way the sats blended with the sub I had to double check that I did'nt leave the old speakers conected the cross over is so perfect that it sounds as if the lower freq. sounds that can't possibly come from a sat were coming from the sats, this coming from a guy who just disconected a total of 7 8inch woofers this system is amazing. my only complaint is that certain low freq. sounds a little boomy but im pretty sure by adding some more insulation inside the sub encloser will do the trick I will experement and report back. I paid 500 u.s. for this system amd it is defenitly worth 3 times the amount when I get A bigger house I will be sure to buy bigger Athenas keep up the good work

I recently purchased the athena subwoofer as-p400. It is without a doubt the best sounding sub I've ever heard. I compared it to other big name brands costing more and there was no contest. I work at a Best Buy in Maryland and for the longest time the speaker room we had which features a number of different speakers in there from a number of different companies did not work. The only section that was up and slightly running was the Bose section. Now before I had gotten to best buy I had never heard of Athena and such but after I heard there as-b1's play a jazz disc at another best buy I feel in love with those speakers. So it was my top priority to get that room to work again and have people purchasing those amazing speakers and not spend thier money on those over priced ones...*cough*klipsh bose*cough*....so after much nagging to management they hired a crew of people to go in there and fix it up, they also had me partake in fixing it which was pretty cool. Of course we got all the other speakers to work first but as the saying goes “save the best for last”...and that we did...all of us in the repair crew loved the Athena speakers and wanted them up and working for as long as possible. So we cleaned it up and added some stuff to it and made it sing such beautiful noise. My dreams had finally been answered. It was hard to sell good speakers without showing how they sounded but now I could. 2 weeks later (I think) a man came in a bought a pair of F1's, some b'1, a c'1 and a asp400 because he thought they sounded beautiful...better then Bose is what he kept saying as we rung him up...of course he stoped saying bose and looked down at his wallet alot more after the total came up BUT when your buy and pioneer plasma hdtv, yamaha 5790 receiver, speaker wires up the ying yang and some of the best constructed thx monster brand wires out there I would do the same thing...but he was relieved with the price of the speakers cause he thought he was gonna have to spend a fortune on amazing speakers when to his surprise they were pretty cheap. These have been one of the best speakers I’ve heard on the market compared to some other stores out there that would sell speakers for the grande total of your house*cough*myer-emco*cough*. So to sum this bad boy up, these speakers will blow you away with its amazing acoustic and solid bass. The sub woofers....fantastic, the center channel... your telling me there’s a speaker there... I thought the people were really in my room...the floor standing, amazing. The little b’1's, put some of the klipsh speakers to shame. Go and buy these speakers now...maybe at best buy...maybe not...but hey....these speakers are worth every penny.

I've recently added the AS-C1 to my HomeTheater which used to consist of 4 AS-B2's. What an awesome center speaker. The sound is perfect! I was so happy with the results I even bought the AS-R1 to complete my 6.1 surround. This speaker is also great sounding. Ok I lied about the 6.1... I still need to purchase the AS-P400!! But even without I can still very much enjoy my surround system. The audio is fantastic

I've finally added the As-C1 to my 2 pairs of As-B2's. That concluded my 5 speakers for Home Theater but I was not done there. I also picked up the As-R1 for my rear center speaker. The jump from 4 speakers to 6 has been very impressive. The As-C1 is such a great sounding center speaker I would be happing using the As-C1 for all speaker placements. I am now just one As-P400 away from completing my HomeTheater as far as Audio goes. Excellent work Athena !!!

Started with the AS P300 a year ago due to price....$99 new at Best Buy. Has exceeded any expectations I may have had. After initial break-in period, sub makes any movie sound and feel alive! Ran into the AS F2's recently for open box as well....$259.99 for the pair again at Best Buy! After reading reviews on this site, I bought the AS C1 for for $109 and the AS R1's for $84.99 for the pair at you guessed it...Best Buy. Feel I have a really high end system for a steal. Do not regret any of these purchases.

I use 3 AS-C1's for front(R)-center-front(L), 2 AS-B1's for the surrounds and an AS-P400 sub. All powered by a Yamaha HTR-5760 receiver. My system sounds every bit as good as the "high end" setup at my local professional HT retailer. The use of the 3 AS-C1's up front makes for a truly seamless sound stage. Pans across the screen are flawless, as are all the sound pans across the whole room. The dynamics and clarity of the system are about as good as it gets. Dialogue is clear and natural, just like the actor is in my room. My only complaint is in the auto-on/off feature on the sub. I don't like it going into "standby" several times during a movie. I wish they just put a on/off MANUAL power switch on the front of the unit, then only I would decide when it was time for "standby". All my speakers are set to small with the x-over set to 90hz on the Yamaha, and I'm using the "direct in" input on the AS-P400 sub. All in all, there is just no way my system should sound this good for the money I paid. The local movie theater is not going to see me for a long time! My system's total score (out of 10): 9.0 It would have been an easy 10 except for that darn auto on/off circuit!!!! Darryl

I recently bought the AS400 Sub an was truly impressed at the sounds. Was not aware of what I was missing. However, I am truly upset that I can no longer purchase the ASF2 speakers from Best Buy. I get Best Buy cards from work and use these to purchase my electronic goodies. Still love my AS400 Sub-great product!!!

I started out several months ago with a pair of B1s, to which I quickly added a P300 sub. I loved that stereo setup so much that I just got a pair of F2s and a C1 to complete the system. I still can't believe how good these speakers sound together, or how little I paid for such great sound!

I have AS-F2's front and surround, great speakers. If anybody has an extra AS-B2, i'm looking for one for my center. E-mail me. These speakers are awesome. I compared them to the JBL E90's, and the Athena's blew them away...

I have currently narrowed my subwoofer search between the P3 & the P-400. Most high end subs are front firing like the P-400 or the higher power handing P3. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Just purchase the S2 and P2 combination in the SCT series to compliment the C1 and B1 combo I had before, powered with a Sony STR-DB870. They sounds terrific, great clarity in both movies and music. Because of the P2's, my JBL PB8 sub is pretty much useless because of how powerful the PS's are. I was really happy with the quality of the C1 and B1's before, and now having a full Athena system makes my setup complete, from a performance and style perspective. Great company, great stuff.

I recently added the P400 subwoofer to my F2 floorstanding speakers and center channel. Set up was a cinch, as was adjustment- just set the dial to F2- that's it, piece of cake. Just as I hoped, the sub adds that extra punch and depth to the bass that makes movie watching more like being in a theater. I'm must delighted with all the components and how well they integrate. I think of it as my "high definition" sound system, as the sound is so clear.

I spent long hours auditioning many high end speakers to upgrade my home audio system. I expect to be able to hear every note and tone clearly and without coloration. The Athena line delivers in every aspect. The price was just an added bonus! I decided on the AS-B2s paired with a warm Harman Kardon AVR330. I recently added the AS C1. I hear the actual wood resonate from the bass on Diana Krall albums. Voices from all styles of music sound very natural on these speakers. I am very satisfied! Now I want to add rear speakers. My couch is flush against the rear wall. With that restriction, should I purchase the S.5s and put them on stands or will the AS-R1s still work with the wall so close to the listener?

I purchased a pair of AS-B1's from my local Best Buy store.....they were an extra pr. of floor models. I got the pair for $72 including tax! This is an absolute STEAL given the sound quality. I listen to a wide variety of music from Rush to Madonna, to Big Band to Classical, and so far have been very impressed with the sound quality of the Athenas. I power them with a Yamaha 5540 receiver, and deliver the music via a Sony CA-70ES 5 disc changer. Speakers exhibit nice clean highs, and nice tight bass, not boomy at all. Vocals seem to pleasing to my ears as well...smooth reproduction overall. Very pleased with these speakers.

I am using your f2 speakers with a 7.1 system as side speakers. I am amazed at the fit and finish and sound quality of these speakers for the price. My front speakers cost over six times what I paid for your f2 but the sound seems to blend perfectly. The music seems to float in the air with greater detail in the 7 speaker mode but the imaging is still razor sharp. Great speakers.

I purchased the AS-C1 and a pair of AS-B2's to replace my old Bose AM7 system. It did take a bit of breaking-in for the AS-B2's to smooth out, but now there is no comparing them to my old system. I am powering them with a Denon 1803 receiver and soon I will add the AS-P300 sub and AS-R1 surrounds. Thank you to Athena for making such an affordable and excellent sounding speaker. The way these speakers reproduce a movie soundtrack is so precise and the dynamic range is exceptional. After the break-in, I watched Hellboy and even without a sub the b2's bass output was awesome. All I can say is do yourself a favour avoid Bose and get yourself some Athena's.

Well I've finally arrived at the point that I'm content with my home theatre setup. I'm running the AS-B2's up front, the AS-C1 for the center and the Athena Sub8. I picked everything up at Future Shop and was fortunate enough to get the sub for free with the purchase of the AS-B2's... great promotion! I just recently went to pick up a set of AS-B1's for the surrounds, but ended up getting the Polk R15's at Future Shop only because they were on sale for $129, down from $199 and the smaller size better fit the small ledge space I had to work with. A friend of mine, who's been into the home audio scene for a number of years, turned me onto the Athena brand based on the amount I was willing to spend and my desire to have good-looking, great sounding gear. Well, all I can say is that I haven't been disappointed with the Athenas. I replaced 15 year old Cerwin Vegas (D3) running from a Sony amp and purchased a new Yamaha RX-V550 which drives the Athenas almost to perfection in my ears. I'm no expert of analyzing sound, but the speaker setup is so crisp and clear which is all I want. Way to go Athena and Future Shop!

I was in the market for a low profile sub for my living room. I had looked at more than ten different subs from other brand names and I came across the AS-P300 at a local retailer. I instantly fell in love with the looks and sound to match. When I got it home, and finally got the sub set to match the other speakers in my surround setup, I loved it even more. It should definately be considered by anyone with an average sized room, as well as an average sized budget.

I've started more than 2 years ago with a pair of AS-F1 on sale, and then I've got a pair of AS-F2, the AS-C1, and AS-P400. They sound great with a Harman-Kardon AVR-525 and recently I've finished my 7.1 setup, using a pair of Acoustat speakers for front channels. I'm looking at getting some of the smaller ones (AS-B1) for other rooms, since the quality at that price is awsome.

I have a pair of Audition AS-F2 's and an SCT C1 center channel. Initially, the speakers were slightly harsh, but afterthe burn-in period all the harshness was gone. If I closed my eyes, the speakers simply vanished and it was like listening to a live performance! The Athenas are amazing for music and are also as great for movies. They are definitely some of the best value speakers you can buy and can easily outperform speakers 3 times their price.

I did my homework before purchasing the AS-C1 and AS-F2 speakers at Best Buy. I read the review in Sound & Vision magazine, and I read owner reviews on-line. I cross-shopped at several stores here locally, auditioning speakers that cost up to $4,000 apiece. Conclusion: the athenas are an incredible value. The sound is detailed- I can hear instruments, voices and notes that were blurred together on my previous speakers. The treble range reaches high, but beware, flaws in your recordings come through loud and clear. Speaking of loud, if you crave volume, the kind that you feel in your gut, these are the speakers for you. I can't wait to purchase the sub-woofer, to get that lowest octave that the F2's can reproduce. Overall, I'm a VERY satisfied customer.

To be honest with you, I was not going to buy your speakers, ( I own a center and a pair of bookshelf ) but the salesman was excited about them having been to a electronics convention and hearing them played against other popular speakers. He convinced me to try them. At the time the store I was in did not have any available to hear. I went ahead and purchased them contrary to what I wanted to buy ( Advents ) and I was totaly taken aback by the clarity and the wonderful quality of the sound. I now have a home theater stereo that can have 7 sets of speakers as well as two subwoofers and I intend on making all my new purchases for speakers, Athena.

I purchased the Micra6 system a couple weeks ago to pair up with a Marantz SR5400 and all I can say is "WOW". The Marantz puts out over 90WPC and those little Micras stay with it all the way. In a small to medium sized room you won't go wrong with the Micra6 system! I would advise anyone interested in them to run, not walk, to their local Futureshop or BestBuy and pick up a set. They're that good! One request Athena, swap out the spring clips for binding posts, people will spend the extra couple of $$$. Great job Athena, my Micras and I are looking forward to continuing our beautiful friendship!

athena adds: "We are very proud of the Micra 6 system, and excluding the binding posts was regrettable but necessary in order to provide the sound quality the Micra delivers at it's ridiculously low price. The terminals we chose however accept good wire and will provide excellent sonic results"

I recently purchased an Audition Series Speaker System consisting of 1 pr AS-F2’s, 1 pr AS-B2’s, 1 AS-C1, and a P-400 Sub. I am an audiophile at heart, but not in the wallet. I’m not an acoustical engineer, but I know what sounds good. These speakers don’t sound good, they sound GREAT! They are the best value on the speaker market. Wow, your speakers are exeptional for the price. My friends were amazed with the sound and even jaw dropping when I told them the price. The sound were wonderful, clear, and the built quality are as good as more expensive speakers. I have 2 AS-F2, AS-C1, 2 AS-R1, wish to have a sub too but my wife don't give me more allowance for toys. Anyway, excellent speakers and I feel so good that I've made decision to purchase Athena speakers. The only problem is packing. I wish you have better box to protect the speakers. I had to exchange one AS-F2 because of two corner damaged. It was involved in the very long trip and 4 hours waiting.

i worked hard looking into a speaker pkg. i went with the as-b1 i can not afford everything at once and these are timbre matched heard them at bestbuy loved them only one problem the box said made in china i thought they were made in us or canada.not happy about that.

athena replies: Some of the production for athena products are built in a Chinese facility that equals the quality and precision of our Canadian facility. Its one of the reasons that keeps the athena products affordable. All speakers that were sent to the press reviewers for the Audition Series were manufactured in China and not one review has ever been negative or concerned about the country of origin.

After year of purchasing athena speakers, I'am still impressed with the sound that i get in my bedroom system. I have 4 as-c1's 3 of them are in my bedroom system, which 2 are the main speakers and 1 is the center channel. I also have 2 as-b1's as my surrounds. All hooked to a technics sa-da10 receiver and da10 dvd audio player. My system also consists of a teac reference 500 system. The sound is freaking outstanding. Especially on my dvd audio player playing the led zeppelin - how the west was won- the 3rd track on #2 disc moby dick, when john bonham goes into the percussions it is freaking mind blowing. It sounds so freaking live it's scary. As-c1 centers or mains however you want to use it, is really a phenomenal speaker. The sound coming out the athenas are like no other. In my living room system I have the as-c1 as the center another pair of as-b1's as the surrounds. I 'am going to purchase the as-f2's shortly. Athena really did a great job on these speakers. I have listened to a lot of other brand of speakers, but nothing can compare the athena even double the price range.

I recently purchased the SCT series combination of S3 and P3 and must say I am audibly impressed. The room I have them in, which I have dedicated as the sound/video room is approximately 30 feet X 16 feet. (level 3 in the house) I have a pair of Athena B2 speakers as rears and am using the 47 inch TV as the center channel. (Hitachi) The sound reproduction is incredible. So much so that I have to be aware of my neighbours when watching a particularly "action packed" movie so as not to disturb them too much. I am upgrading my receiver now to a high current Harmon Karden to compliment the speakers.

I purchased the Point 5 system about 2 months ago at Best Buy. I power them with a Marantz SR-5300. They replaced my Klipsch bookshelf (I needed smaller speakers) and I could not be happier.
